Chapter One – The Cruise Ship – The Cave (2)

The Stoners’ family had secured a good location at the resting place with a good view of the cave. Theymanaged to occupy two four seater chairs. Ben said with wondering voice “Where the dim lights are came from?” Clichy raised his head upwards “There, up there, the sun lights must have passed through the winding and small cave opening”  Ben “ It must be, it is really amazing, the whole cave does not have a single bulb for lights”

Sarah, eight years old, the eldest daughter of Clichy gathered all her cousins and sisters, she asked for permission “Mom, can we go down to the stream to see the living fish lantern swimming?” Stella answered ”Ok, but be careful” Rose added” Do not go too far away, just around the upstream and somewhere near the bridge, we can see you all from here” All the children answered “Ok”  Ben curiously said” The stream is zip zap winding, where is the stream leading to?”

There are a number of children leaned against the wooden fence, beside them there were adults.  They were looking down and admiring the cocoons, the fish, the thousands of firefly and the cave wall with some plants growing on the cracks.  The place they were standing was a cliff, down the cliff, there were bushes and lime stones and fairly sharp.  Ben accidentally eyed on a fatty and plum boy, he was trying to squeeze in and had a place to be against the wooden fence. He used his plum body and asserted force to squeeze in, a girl, about 5 years old, losing her balance and thrown out to the cliff. Ben exclaimed lightly with wide opened month, he padded Clichy’s back and finger pointing the girl “The little girl is falling to the cliff” Clichy’s attention was drawn and he saw, a boy dashed from at the end of the downstream, up to the highland, pushed away those children aside gently .  He held up the little girl.  He had spent just a split of second, from about 200m of the downstream up to the point of rescuing.  Clichy saw clearly, the others, the girl’s parents kept on saying “Thank you Mr.……. Thank you Mr.……. Thank you Mr.” Ben felt relieve and said “Clichy it was real lucky, that boy was just beside and around those children”

Rose cautioned the children” Have you all noticed that a little girl like yours age was nearly fell to her death” The Children just walked and played their own games alongside with their parents, it seemed that they did not know anything and did not bothered what their mothers were talking to them. The path along with the streams was side by side. Ben said” This path look like leading to the small and narrow passage” Clichy said”Hmm… yes, look at those fish, the eyes are spotlights like the cocoons, the difference is only the spotlights beamed sideways” Ben’s eyesight were moving around “The dim light from the top of the cave is not bright enough, the eyes spotlight of the fish and the fireflies complement the brightness of the path and surrounding ” Clichy agreed “The best part of it, they shun the lime stones on and off, it gives me and arouse my feeling of mysterious about the cave”

Near the end of the path, there was another bridge and resting areas with a number of long chairs.  The chairs were made from bamboo and no nails were used, the bridge was also made up by bamboo with no nails.  The children were playing hide and seek.   Julie was trying to hide into one of the small caved in wall but she drifted and fell. She stood up and started scolding” stupid turtle went to my leg and made me fall!” There were millipedes all over her hands and legs, she saw it and started to shake her body, then her hands and legs and continued scolding “Stupid millipedes, don’t know how to make color lights, shoo….shoo… go away, I don’t want be friends with you all” Both parents of the two families were smiled.

All of them at last arrived at the end of the winding and zip zap lane.  They stepped into the entrance and walked along the small and narrow cave tunnel passage together with other cave tourists.
