Chapter One – The Cruise Ship – The Water Falls

The cave trek exit to the water falls; it was quite a wide cave opening. Out from the cave exit, it was actually a valley with waterfalls. There were a number of hills, lowers among higher.  There were trees, tall or short and bushes and it was resembled a natural jungle.

Children were playing around the cave trek exit, outside and inside. Clichy and Ben went over to the fenced, edge of the cave, outside the exit.  They were planning the next adventure as well as surveying.  Ben said “So many birds are around, some are flying, and some are resting on the trees” Clichy said “We have to take the lane down to the rest area on the small island facing the waterfalls” Down the valley, the, water flowing from the water falls to the lakes.

The cave trek exit, it was a cliff; it was situated at about half way of the mountain. There was lane to go down from the exit along the side way of the mountain.  There was lane to go up by the sideway of the mountain from the exit.  There were other cave exits from the cave treks to the valley by the sideways, in between and over the top of the hills. The treks extended out from the cave treks were jungle treks and there were connected to each others, becoming whole treks, and part of it, the cave trek, part of it the Jungle treks.

Stella and Rose together with the children were at the lake side.  Clichy and Ben were at the higher ground of the Island.  The island was surrounded by lakes and streams with waterfalls splashed on the bigger lake. There were chairs, tables, stools and decorated huts. Clichy and Ben were relaxing and comfortably sat on one of the chairs with a table, eyesight searching around and enjoying the scenery, taking snacks and having some cool can beers.

There was a hanging bridge, hanging and across the waterfalls, it was situated at about halfway of the height of the waterfalls.  It was more than twenty tourists strolling along the hanging bridge at any one point of the time.  Both ends of the hanging bridge were connected to tourists’ pedestrians’ lanes. There were lanes connected to jungle treks.

The top of the mountain, the beginning of the waterfalls, there was a wooden bridge across the small lake which was source of waterfalls and it was built at the edge of the falls.  Both ends of the wooden bridge were connected to lanes. The pedestrian lanes and the lanes connected to jungle treks. There were fence at both side with strong aluminum rods for hands to hold and body to lean against. It allowed tourists to have a view of the valley.  There were other small lakes with streams to guide the water flow towards the waterfalls.  Trees, bushes, and bamboo were around together with singing birds up here.  Characteristic designed of resting areas with huts, chairs and tables were over here and there. Jungle treks were around and joined to the cave treks. Security personals stationed up here and down the hanging bridge.

Peter Mark, the uncle of Alice Mark, jobless, he was around at the wooden bridge, standing beside the fence, overlooking the valley.  Alice and grandma were around and not far away from him. A boy voiced “Hey, you are the one, you pushed grandma, grandma fell, I saw you” Peter panicked and ran; he push tourists blocked his way to give him way to run. Tourist fell sideway, tourist fell front way, and it was a chaos. Grandma was knocked and fell over the edge towards the hanging bridge. Alice helped, grabbing grandma legs and fell along, tourist tried to help and held tied Alice and fell together. One held another, total of five falling bodies, knocking the hanging bridge.  The hanging bridge failed as the grips from the supporting structure at both ends of the bridge unable to sustain the impact of the weight of the falling objects. The hanging bridge fell towards the bottom of the valley.

Chapter One – The Cruise Ship – Three a Team

They walked into Jessica office, Jessica told the guards “Leave us and stand guard outside my door, I want no disturbance from anyone” Guards left and Jessica turned around her laptop and facing Ray.  Ray was seated at the guest chair facing Jessica. She said “Mr. Ray you are good, the clip of your own acts, it is self explained”
Ray appeared astonished and panicked after having a peep of the laptop. He said with a tensed voice. “Not possible….. Not possible” But it was just only seconds, he was able to pull himself together and calmed down. 

It seemed that something flashed over his mind. A thought was flashed and he felt Jessica might not want to carry out private punishment against him.  There could be something else. He adjusted his seating position and said ‘Ok, what do you have in mind?” Jessica smiled “How clever, you are? …..” Someone walked in and interrupted her and the intruder said “Please, two for a party, it is not enough, three for a party, it is a game!” Jessica stunned a little, asked simultaneously with questioning “Who are you and how could you get in? My guards were…..”Jessie Will stopped her and said. “Hold it, hold it, no harm done, friends I am”

Jessie Will 21 years old, no steady employment, fooling and playing around the world since she was 16 years old, she had a matured physical outlook, and so far no one had ever asked for her actual age even her passport clearly stated she was 16 years. She went to any place as and when she liked, no barrier or stoppage at all.

She pulled a chair and helped herself be seated, facing Jessica, taking no heed of others, assuming she was one of the family member among three of them in the room and said “You are 28 years old, grow up in the orphanage and no ideas about your parents” She continued and faced Ray “You found out your capabilities at the age of 12 years old.”  She paused and had a deep breath; it seemed that the words spoken by her brought some of her unblissful memory back from the past. She said monotony “your parents passed away with no one known the exact cause of death” She stopped again and felt sorry for herself. She continued with her nearly sobbing but forced her tears backed into her eyes “My parents died with no known cause and I was then 12 years old and I was having a life rooming around the streets from one town to another, no brothers no sisters and no one else.  Bullied most of the time by the street boys with no helps from whomever and whenever until I was 16 years old”

Jessie started to have her abilities.  It was at first by predicting something or phenomenal a few days ahead in the future.  By such a capability, she was able to get some cash for a living with a better life. As the days passed by, her capability developed further.

The office was fallen into a silence moment. Both Jessica and Ray waited for Jessie to get back to herself.  Minutes later, Jessica broke the silence. She asked “Jessie, I know Ray was able to do things with high speed that no device or human naked eyes could detect, how about yours” Jessie managed to get herself back a little and forcefully smiled “I have strong mind control” Jessica repeated “Strong mind control? You mean you are able to move things around” Jessie said nothing, trying to get her mood back to joyful state.  Jessica said “I don’t have what you have, but I am good in electronic technology, there are my bests, I have devices no one else could have” She continued “These devices I have assembled with the help of some of my theories and it works.”

Ray posted a question on his forehead and looked at Jessica, waiting for an answer. Jessica known what he was trying to ask and said “Ok, sorry too much of distraction, I want, two….” She paused and continued “no... It is now three of us are a team and we could have a life fooling and joyce around the world, and we could enjoy for the rest of our life” She continued affirmatively “Yes, three of us, Ray, you are good in speed faster than lightning, there are many things we could do” she faced to Jessie “You are good in mind control” She paused and put herself  into deep thought for a few seconds and continued “Are you able to move things around? Or doing some magical power?” Jessie answered “Yes I do, but towards certain extent” Jessica “Hmm…. It’s going to have a good team, we will, I am sure”

The office was quiet again for a few minutes and Jessica broke the silence again, she asked Jessie “Did you or was you the one who saved the grandma at the cave treks?” Jessie “Yes I was the one” Jessica asked again “Are you the one stopped grandma from continue gambling at the casino?”  She continued asking before she had the answer from Jessie “How you have stopped her” Jessie answered “Yes I was and I communicated to her by thoughts wave” Ray asked “Thoughts wave?” Jessie “Mind to mind talk and subject closed” Three of them were jokes around, exchanging the life they were and Jessica was more of the matured among them. Jessica was chosen as their team leader.

Chapter One – The Cruise Ship – The Casino

It was morning, on the sun deck beside the swimming pool.  Alice Mark and the grandma, they were resting on the lazy chair.  The sixteen years old girl Alice Mark begged “Grandma, please don’t go to casino.  Dad, mom, uncles and unties, they all made me promised to look after you, especially going to the casino” Grandma protested “Alice, do not bring out all my children to control me!” Alice said “Please, I am not, we have just enough for the trip” Grandma changed her tone “Alice, let me go in for a just little while to test my luck, somehow or rather, I feel my luck today is good” Alice “Grandma, you must have referred to yesterday evening incident, do you know that you had make me so scared that I don’t know what to do, I never felt so scared before, please don’t do it again! Grandma” She continued “I really don’t feel comfortable if you go to casino”

The other corner of the sun deck, a boy talked to his father “Pa, that man over there, he was the man I saw him yesterday, he pushed the grandma and she fell” The father eyesight followed the direction his son was pointing; He saw the man leaned against the fencing and looked over the ocean.  The father paused a few seconds and said “Go over to play along with your sisters and brothers and don’t say anything about the pushing of the grandma” The man over there realized that he was near Alice and grandma, he walked away.

The casino was comparable to any landed casino.  It was open 24 hours after the ship cruised to international waters. Casino closed only out of international waters. It was said that something to do with Casino License.  Casino needed not to have license to operate over the international waters.

Ray Trent in his 25 years old, other described him as professional gambler; he called himself as game player.  He was never been working except earned a living by gambling.  There was a casino. There were his footsteps around.

He was roomed around at the casino, trying to secure a comfortable seat.  He was having an uneasy feeling, a sort of omen that something would happen.  Hesitating he was. He stopped at a table, standing behind a group of bystanders surround the black jack cards table. A gambler beside him spoke “Hey, I know you; you have won beautifully last night” Ray had nothing to say and walked away.

Ray came to a table, he heard Alice begged “Grandma, please you have lost over five thousand dollars, it is time to stop” Grandma used Credit cards to get cash and played. Alice continued with a near crying voice “You promised a maximum of one hundred dollar” Ray was intending to leave to elsewhere, but he heard Alice was starting to sob and beginning to weep.  He could not help himself, taking a seat just beside grandma.  The luck of grandma started to change and get better to the best.  She had won back five thousands plus one thousand net won. She did not shown to leave even Alice kept on pestering her to retire from the game. Ray spoke to grandma gently with low voice “You need to go now, your luck won’t be forever” Grandma paid no attention and took no heed. She kept on and lost a few hundreds. She wanted to bet with thousand, before the thousand chip rest on the table, she withdrawn, stood up and walked away with no reason whatsoever. 

Jessica Robert, 28 years old, having a nickname as tom boy, she was a casino security head, muscular figure but charming in a way of rude look. She went over to the direction of Ray’s table, beside her; there were two male guards of height and unfriendly attitude. She asked featureless “Mr. Please follow us to our office, we have something to discuss”

Chapter One – The Cruise Ship – The Cave (4)

Ben argued” It is here, we went out from here, and it is from this floor and somewhere around here”  Clichy “Why not we go to the main entrance and get in the cave again” One of the ship crew passed by and told them “There are no entrance to the cave except the main entrance.  There are a number of exits but these exits are prohibited for entry for security reasons” He continued before walked away “There are device for the exits for the number count and there are CCTV”

Ben, his patience was gone; he was agitated but not highly, it was just slightly. May be it was the food, during lunch time he did not talked much.  He sat quietly on the chairs at one corner of the main entrance.  Stella, Rose and the children were to look for toilets. Clichy roomed and looked around.  Minutes passed, Clichy went over to sit along with Ben and said “Ben, there is an electronic notice board” He raised his hand and pointed to the Electronic Board and continued” The Board is indicating, totaling of two caves and waterfalls of the cruise ship, the firefly cave, the cave trekking.  You see Cave Trekking; it is not Jungle Trekking and the waterfalls!” Ben was a bit relaxed at this time and said “Yes, we must had missed it, we may had too excited to go to the cave” Ben noticed that there were other side ways entrance, he read “Way to Cave Trekking’ Way to Waterfalls”

They used the sideways. It took them just only minutes, they arrived at the exit of the firefly cave and entrance to the cave trekking. It was a door exit to the side way of the firefly cave exit. The door closed and in no way anyone could feel they were in the cruise ship.

Children were playing around the small stripe of land jet out from the cave exit; Clichy and Ben were planning the next course of touring.  Ben “I think, we have to take the touring lane” Clichy posted a question mark on his face “The touring lane?” Ben explained “The one lane that leading to another destination”

They walked down and they saw a signage erected at one of the beginning lane.  Sarah read “Way to waterfalls” All children were excited and kept begging “Please…..Please…..this way……, please…..this way” They were walking and strolling, joking to each others, the children one group and the adults another group. Ben said leisurely “The lights are just nice, lights along the cave treks, it is not so bright, just like morning soft sun light” Rose added “The lights along our lane, it is only bright enough for use to walk around” Stella joined “It is cooling and refreshing like morning breeze”

Rose was attracted to the lights; color lights felled on a location just beside the walking lane and called the children “Come over here! Come over here! Look at the watery lime stones, over there” Sarah amazingly said “So beautiful” Irene “Let’s go nearer!” Julie “Mom what are those statues?” Stella answered “According the Chinese legend, those are the ‘eight gods cross over to the sea’ aren’t they look very real?” There were more of the lime stones of various shapes, some resembled the liberty statue, and some just looked like cute little animals and insects, birds and many others. In a way, the watery lime stones, it created sense of natural formation of the whole episodes of figures.

The cave trek was a long winding cave. The lane leading to the waterfalls, it went up to the side mountain walls, it curved, it went down with both side were cave walls like a stripe lane in between two mountains. The various statues formed by the lime stones were everywhere, over here and over there. The treks of the cave follow the same scenario and there are some plants and bushes around. The lane was bit moisture and laminated by Woolite.

A commotion was started somewhere over one of cave treks. By then, Clichy and Ben, they all were at a higher ground. It was a very clear view and they could hear noises down there quite clearly.  Woman at the age of seventies fell onto the lower ground from the cave trek. Ben said “The one, who attended the injured lady, is he a doctor?” Clichy “Most likely”

The ship in-house rescue team arrived, the attending man shook his head and walked away, a sixteen years old girl was crying her voice “Please, help my grandma” Someone, a lady of the age of twenties, pushed away gently the surrounding crowd and went in, squatting down and raised her left one arm holding the head still bleeding of the injured grandma, the other arm held her waist at the back, putting the injured grandma into her arms and said sadly “Please grandma, don’t you dare to die right now…..don’t you dare to leave me right now……you promised me to be with me for decades!” The crying sixteen years old girl raised her hand and shook the yang lady’s shoulder gently and asked “Please who are you?”  The young lady gently allowed the grandma to slide away from her body, looked at the grandma’s face and she broke a smile from her crying face. She further slid down the grandma slowing on the ground and Looked at the sixteen girl “Sorry….ye…., mistaken!” she looked at the rescuing team and said “Sorry…., mistaken!” She stood up and walked away

The rescuing team trying to lift up the grandma and doing the preliminary examinations of her conditions, grandma woke up and pushed away their hands and screamed “What are you trying to do, harassing me, an old lady!”

The man who was just attended the injured grandma overheard the grandma, pulled himself and turned vigorously towards the grandma position.  By now, he had walked up the hill and it was near Clichy they all. He told his wife unbelievably with astonished voice and highly curious tone “Honey, it is impossible, it is outstanding, and it is something in my whole life as a doctor that I could have made such a mistake?” The wife asked “Dear, what is he matter?” He continued “The head of the grandma was fractured badly; when I examined her she was dead for at least five minutes!”

Chapter One – The Cruise Ship – The Cave (3)

The cave tunnel passage was truly small and narrow, there were lime stones of various shapes over here and there, and some were attached on the cave wall of both sides.  There were gutters to allow the drifting of limewater from the lime stones hanging on top of the cave wall,

Clichy and Ben kept on lowering their heads down in order to get them passed through some of the narrow and low passage.  Ben talked to Clichy “Luckily the ground is not wet and slippery; and there provided bulbs for light to brighten the passage” Eugene the eight years old asked”Daddy, where are we going?  When will we be there?” Ben answered to his son “The whole trip you were quiet, so be quiet” Eugene made faced and said “Adult is terrible!” Clichy smiled at Eugene “We will be there soon enough and you will not be disappointed” Eugene asked again “Uncle Clichy, why this small road so narrow, it goes up, and then it goes down, it turn left and then it turn right” Clichy looked at Eugene “Adults not always know everything” Eugene made faced again and quipped “Answer is not an answer”

Irene happily burst out “There we are, exit must be out there” Eugene got excited and said “It must be, it must be” They stepped out from the cave passage and they stepped onto the small stripe of land jet out from the cave exit with fencing, the exit was a cliff at the half way of the mountain. Clichy looked at his watch and said “Look, it is now about 12.30pm and I am a bit hungry, let’s get out of the cave and continue the tour after lunch” Ben agreed and they went over to the edge leaned against the fencing to have a look of their present situation”

Ben talked to Clichy “We can go down from here by the small lane, but down there, there is couple of other lanes leading to some other different directions” Clichy took out his telescope, focusing the signage erected at the beginning of the lanes. He said “5Kms trek, 10Kms trek, 7Kms trek, one more signage and indicated, Trekking Not Allowed” He continued “It looks like; it is going to another destination? No, I don’t think that it is an exit from the cave right at this point” Ben asked “Is it we have to go backwards along the way we came in and exit the from main entrance?

Stella and Rose needed to go to toilets as well as all the children.  They found the toilets, it was somewhere near the exit of the cave.

Cell phone/hand phone rang, Clichy answered “Yes, we know, I am hungry too, but we are stucked inside the cave, we couldn’t find the exit of the cave at our present location and………….” He was interrupted by Stella “We have found the exit of the cave, it is near the toilets” He continued answering “OK, we have found the exit, meet you all shortly at the restaurant” Stella asked “whose calling?” Clichy answered “Adrian, all of them are inside the restaurant waiting for us” Rose” Which restaurant?” Clichy “The Japanese restaurant” Rose “I thought we are going to have hot and spicy Thai food” Ben said “Whatever, may be they have re-consider and concern about  the children unable to take hot and spicy” The conversation ended by the time they went out from the cave.
